経歴
Biography

I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Tsukuba, where I also completed my Ph.D. in Information Studies. Before that, I studied design at Beijing University of Technology (B.A.) and Beijing Jiaotong University (M.A.), which shaped my ability to approach problems from a user-centered perspective and to embrace inclusive design thinking. I have worked as a JST SPRING Research Fellow and as a Research Intern at the NIMS Internship Program. My interdisciplinary research integrates digital humanities, interaction design, and design futures. Currently, supported by the JSPS “Research Activity Start-up” grant, I am conducting research on communication design, digital exhibitions, and user evaluation of digital media. My work explores innovative strategies for digital interaction and presentation, aiming to create more inclusive and engaging ways of shaping concepts of the future.

研究概要
Research Outline

My research focuses on “Designing for the Future,” an interdisciplinary approach integrating digital humanities, interaction design, and design futures. It harnesses design thinking to envision and shape the “future.” Specifically, I concentrate on “Communication Design,” exploring effective strategies to convey information and ideas across various media; “Digital Exhibition,” investigating innovative ways to present information and culture through digital platforms; and “User Evaluation of Digital Media,” assessing user experiences and perceptions of digital content.

私が目指すトランスボーダー研究者とは
What is my goal as a transborder researcher?

My goal as a transborder researcher is to bridge disciplinary, cultural, and institutional boundaries in order to make abstract scientific knowledge more accessible and inclusive. By integrating interaction design, AI, and tactile media, I aim to translate complex concepts into tangible and sensory experiences that can be understood by diverse audiences. Collaborating with partners across Japan, the U.S., and beyond, I seek to establish scalable frameworks for knowledge accessibility that connect academia, industry, and the public. Ultimately, I hope to foster a more inclusive research ecosystem where technology not only advances scientific innovation but also enhances cultural understanding and social well-being.
