研究概要／Summary

High-energy collisions of heavy nuclei at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN allow to study nuclear matter at very high temperature and pressure. Under such extreme conditions a new state of matter is formed, the Quark Gluon Plasma (QGP). Highly energetic partons from the early stage of the collision traverse and probe the medium. The measurement of jet properties helps to understand the nature of the parton-medium interaction and to determine properties (temperature, energy density) of the QGP.
