研究概要／Summary

脳・神経系には多数の神経細胞が存在しており、 それぞれの神経細胞がつながって神経回路を形成しています。この神経回路が働くことで、動物の行動は生み出されます。私は単純な神経 回路を持つホヤというモデル動物を使用して研究を行っています。ホヤの神経回路を研究することで、脳・神経系が働く仕組み、つまり行 動が生み出される仕組みを明らかにすることを目指しています。

Nervous system is composed of numerous neurons. Neurons connect with each other to form neural circuits. Neural circuits generate animal behavior, such as walking and swimming. We are studying the simple nervous system of the ascidian larva as a model system to know how neural circuits generate animal behaviors.
