自分にとって都合の悪い情報を無視したり過小評価したりすることを心理学用語で「正常性バイアス」といいます。これは災害時などに自己中心的な行動に対して過剰なまでに攻撃することや差別を生む原因となります。本プロジェクトでは新型コロナウイルス感染における「正常性バイアス」と「非自粛行動」および「他者への攻撃・差別」との因果関係を明らかにすることを目的とし、1000人規模の質問紙調査を実施する予定です。今後、正常性バイアスが高い人低い人という切り口で他者への差別・攻撃行動や非自粛行動につながらないためにどうすれば良いかなど、広く社会へ共有できる提言を作成します。
In psychological terms, ignoring or underestimating information that is not convenient to you is known as “normalcy bias”, and it may cause excessive attacks and discrimination against self-centered behaviors in the event of a disaster. The purpose of this project is to clarify the causal relationships among “normalcy bias”, “non-self-control behaviors” and “attacks/discrimination against others” in relation to COVID-19 infection. We plan to conduct a questionnaire survey involving approximately 1,000 people. In the future, we will compare people with higher and lower degrees of normalcy bias, and make recommendations that can be widely shared in society, including measures to prevent discrimination/aggressive behavior against others and non-self-control behaviors.
